Great Music DESTROYED by a SUB-STANDARD Venue

We won't even get into the fiasco of the published start time of the concert, vs the actual start time. Suffice to say that it set the stage for the remainder of the evening. We have attended, and throurgly enjoyed, multiple Chris Botti concerts in the past. Unfortunately, the concert of March 31, 2013, at The Wiltern was at best, bearable. The auditorium was cavernous and the sound system was overbearing. The music was bouncing off the walls like ping-pong balls and it was nearly impossible to hear, let alone appreciate, the intricate playing of Botti and his numerous extremely talented guest performers. It was so uncomfortable that we were actually considering leaving early. The NOISE was unbearable. The sound did improve somewhat, about 1/3 of the way through the concert, and we did enjoy the remainder, in spite of the cavernous autitorium and overbearing, and poorly adjusted sound system. Thed Wiltern has been removed from venues that we will support in the future. Hoperfully, Mr. Botti will do the same.

Amazing unique show

I’ll be honest when I saw the stage setup I was a little worried because I was expecting more of a orchestra but 10 minutes into the concert I was already amazed at the fullness and richness of the sound! Chris was amazing! Obviously you’d be happy to have him play every song but he had such amazing musicians backing him up and it seemed every 20 minutes another performer joined him on stage. How good was it? Halfway through the show I was looking where Chris was playing in the area this summer! I can’t think of any criticism I could come up with. I’ve seen a variety of genres and enjoy them all but this ranks in the top 2 or 3 concerts I’ve been to. Thanks Chris and all the performers for a special evening of music in Madison
